Role
Be part of a major industrial project and ensure quality is delivered right the first time.
Our Client has a requirement for a Civil Structural Inspector, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Teesside.
Role Purpose:
- Ensure all civil, structural, and concrete construction activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes and standards, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and client requirements.
- Provide surveillance, inspection, and verification of construction works to ensure compliance and prevent non-conformances.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all project HSES standards and documentation.
- Carry out timely inspections during civil and structural activities.
- Proactively identify and prevent non-compliance issues and support problem resolution.
- Monitor and review material test certificates in line with project specifications.
- Ensure project preservation requirements are followed.
- Maintain material traceability throughout construction activities.
- Witness manufacturing and construction activities in accordance with agreed ITPs and project standards.
- Endorse associated reports and ITP points where appropriate.
- Ensure quality records and documentation are completed, reviewed, endorsed, and stored correctly.
- Provide feedback to support supplier performance evaluations.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in civil and structural inspection.
- Previous Quality Control (QC) inspection experience is essential.
- Experience in structural steel fabrication and erection.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to a Right First Time approach.
- Good coordination and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Self-motivated, organised, resourceful, and proactive.
